Full-stack engineer · 8 years

I build and scale backend and frontend systems that hold up in production.

I'm Nishant Maurya — a full-stack engineer with 8 years across Node.js, TypeScript, React, and AWS. I've owned platform migrations, distributed microservices, and production systems used by enterprise and government clients.

Full résumé
  1. Jul 2022 — Present

    Software Engineer

    Jambo

    Edmonton, Canada

Full-stack and platform work on a stakeholder-engagement product used by enterprise and government clients.

    • Sole technical owner of a company-wide Node.js v18 → v22 upgrade across backend services and microservices, coordinating phased rollouts with production stability throughout.
    • Designed configurable Custom Field Types (Number, Currency, Rich Text) on a shared column model, and led the Quill → Tiptap editor migration with native table and image support.
    • Led a team of 3 to deliver the first Vue template-based report, owning requirements, delegation, and cross-developer coordination.
    • Enforced strict TypeScript across microservices, migrating loosely-typed services to fully strongly-typed systems.
    • Migrated data access from Bookshelf → Hasura → Prisma and AWS SDK v2 → v3; improved grid performance with server-side pagination and bulk operations.
  2. Feb 2018 — Jul 2022

    Senior Programmer Analyst

Alachua County Board of County Commissioners

    Gainesville, FL, USA

Full-stack development for disaster response, emergency management, and public-service platforms.

    • Lead developer on a CARES Act relief application (React, Node.js, MySQL) that supported distribution of ~$46M in relief funds.
    • Built real-time emergency-response features with SignalR and .NET — chat systems and live operational dashboards.
    • Implemented SSO (Google, Facebook, ADFS via SAML) and Active Directory integration across internal platforms.
    • Delivered enterprise apps with ASP.NET MVC, C#, SQL Server, and SSRS, including an automated invoicing system for Public Works.

About

A throughline of ownership

For eight years I've worked where full-stack breadth actually matters — government and enterprise platforms where a feature isn't done until it survives real load, real data, and real users. I move comfortably between a React or Vue front end and the Node.js and .NET services behind it, and I tend to gravitate toward the harder half: migrations, data layers, auth, and the systems work that keeps a platform stable while it grows.

The through-line of my career is ownership. I've been the sole technical owner of a company-wide runtime migration, the lead on new product capabilities, and the person who quietly modernizes the tooling everyone else depends on. I care about strongly-typed systems, clear interfaces, and code that the next engineer can reason about.

I'm also an AI-forward engineer — Claude, Cursor, and Copilot are part of how I plan, build, test, and review every day. Not as a novelty, but as leverage that lets me ship more, and more carefully.
